Manila, Philippines — Marrakesh-based artist Xander Pratt unveiled  a 25-piece limited edition of mystical, multimedia and UV-powered paintings recently at the Manila House in BGC. The collection was titled The Lost Tablets.

The Lost Tablet Collection was first released in the Philippines, which represented the spiritual journey of the artist that circled across the country starting from the Ifugao Mountain Province, and all the way to the seas of Sulu. The series of enchanting paintings is meant to be a message from now to the future. As a spiritual shaman, the artist channels messages about freedom and identity, allowing art collectors to view the paintings through the lens of introspection.

Xander Pratt is a multidisciplinary artist, whose work revolves around the mediums of paintings, music, fashion, art direction and film, among many others. His Essence of Africa art exhibition made him be acclaimed by CNN Africa as one of the top 10 Most Avant-Garde Artists in the continent. His art works have been exhibited in Poland, Australia, South Africa, Indonesia and Morocco. He has sold collections under the patronage of the adviser of the King of Morocco and the Sultanate of Sulu, with the support of both ICESCO and UNESCO.

Born in Zimbabwe, with roots from Ghana and South Africa, Pratt is a painter, musician and fashion designer which has been based in Australia and Morocco, and soon to be based in the Philippines. He is a also a member of UNESCO’s International Theatre Institute.

To introduce the premiere of The Lost Tablet painting collection at Manila House, the artist presented a modern ballet show dubbed as Memories of a Butterfly. With alluring ballerinas surrounding the artist as he was seen inside a glass box,  the ballet show put the spotlight on each of the paintings, which was glowed in the dark to come alive. Based upon the emotions pertaining to life and death, it revolved around the relationship between a butterfly and a ballerina. Memories of a Butterfly is the first ballet-art walkthrough in Manila, and was directed by Pratt.

The ballerinas danced to one of the songs to be released by Pratt called Butterfly Addiction, his first single in Asia. The painter and musician is about to launch 17 music videos in the coming weeks, which were all filmed in the Philippines. Filipina ballerinas Jolyn Ternate and Erika Cammayo also performed a modern ballet rendition of the song Memories of a Butterfly by Xander Pratt and JJ Ginon.

Xander has traveled the world to deliver a message of art as as a vessel of personal and collective freedom. “Borders are a barricade designed to separate humanity. When we move beyond the surface of this understanding, we realize the deeper we dive individually, the higher we rise together… May the Lost Tablets allow you to find the pieces of Peace that lay within,” the artist shared.

Pratt is also a Hollywood screenwriter in the making, as he has been working on the screenplay of the very first all-African produced Hollywood film, which he recently completed in the Philippines. He is also the new chairman of the Philippine-based AsiaTV Studios.
