These Two Friends Created Wellness Products That Help Manage Sugar Levels
Manila, Philippines — When former assistant TV director at ABS-CBN and now advertising project manager Kim Legaspi Sacdalan learned that she was having problems with her sugar levels after her pregnancy, she knew she wanted to make a lifestyle change not just for herself, but also for her daughter and family.
“When I gave birth to my daughter, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I could not produce insulin during my pregnancy. It is important to produce insulin from pancreas, which helps in regulating blood sugar to transform into energy. My instant reaction was, I wanted to improve my lifestyle choices for a better health so I can cater more my loved ones,” Kim shared with Stylish Magazine.
“I realized I needed to watch my nutrition more intently so I can improve my health,” she added.
Her friend of 15 years, soap opera head writer Clarissa Estuar Navarro, who was also just starting her married life at the time, has always been a health-conscious gal who watches her sugar levels regularly. Both working in the industries of TV production and advertising, as well as starting a new phase in life at the time, the BFFs were discussing how important it was to take care of one’s self as adults who balance both their careers and new families.
