Gucci was the red carpet choice of some of our fave celebs at the Costume Institute Gala in the Metropolitan Museum of Art last September 13. The Italian luxury house has been adored by fashionistas and glitterati in the recent years for its super distinct geek-chic aesthetic by creative director Alessandro Michele. And of course, the brand’s long legacy of classic glam.
The recent #MetGala2021 was the 75th anniversary celebration of the Costume Institute, and the opening of the exhibit “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”.
These stars looked exquisite in Gucci on the red carpet. Check them out!
1.Serena Williams
The gorgeous tennis superstar wore a custom Gucci silver lace corseted bodysuit, with lace neckline and open back embroidered with pink rhinestone and sequin stars.
She paired it with silver lace leggings, silver lace gloves, silver metallic leather high heel platform sandals, plus the silver metallic leather Jackie 1961 mini bag with metallic piston closure. The Italian brand was an obvious choice for Serena as she currently stars in the Gucci Beloved Show campaign.
She completed her look with a cream, pink and black feather degradé long cape. The stars and stripes vibe of her overall look was a nod to this year’s Met Gala theme. It is also noteworthy that Serena used this event to give her Serena Williams Jewelry brand its red carpet debut.
2. Sienna Miller
The British actress looked phenomenal in her Gucci rose beige lace long sleeve gown, with translucent sequin embroidered floral motif and crystal harness detail. She had on a rose beige ostrich feather coat, too.
She completed the look with her pale pink satin GG Marmont clutch. The GG Marmont clutch is also part of the current Gucci Beloved Show campaign, which is also being starred by the actress. She accessorized with Gucci High Jewelry Hortus Deliciarum earrings in white gold with diamonds, and a Gucci High Jewelry Hortus Deliciarum ring in white gold, blue-green tourmaline and diamonds. Talk about bling-bling!
3.James Corden
Late night show host and comedian James Corden, who’s also the host of the Gucci Beloved Show campaign, rocked the red carpet in a custom Gucci black silk floral jacquard two button peak lapel three-piece tuxedo, with a white piquet bib evening shirt, black silk bowtie and black leather lace-ups.
He was with his wife Julia Carey, who wore a plunging sequined gown by the Italian house.
4. PJ Tucker
Miami Hit basketbal player PJ Tucker looked dashing in a Gucci brick red velvet double breasted suit with Gucci Eschatology label detail and flared pants, with a white lace shirt, brown leather boots with GG Chain detail, lion head brooch in metal with aged gold finish, and green cabochon and gold metal frame sunglasses with yellow lenses.
4.Nyjah Huston
Professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston looked edgy and sharp in a Gucci white two button grosgrain peak lapel New Marseille tuxedo, paired with a white evening shirt with self-fabric bow, as well as black leather ankle boots with gold buckle detail.
5.JR
French artist JR wore a Gucci black floral jacquard two button satin peak lapel evening jacket with a white evening shirt, black wool mohair pants and white leather Ace sneakers with perforated Interlocking G detail.
