The wait is almost over! Sex and the City, the iconic TV series from the late ’90s to early millennium that popularized drinking Cosmopolitans and rockin’ some Manolo Blaniks, is officially coming back with its reboot And Just Like That. The HBO Max’s 10-episode series has started filming already, and has been created to follow three friends Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda as they “navigate the reality of life and friendship in their 50s”.
As heavily reported by the media recently, the famed “try-sexual” of the group is not returning in the reboot. Though we are so gonna miss Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones, we’re pretty sure the fun and chic fashion aspect of the show is gonna make up for it! Evidently, our favorite New Yorkers are bringing back SATC’s signature style parade in the show, as seen in some of the stolen shots from the set of the upcoming series. Here are some of the fantastic fashion pieces we’re loving so far:
Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw famously said she’s “not afraid of heights” as evidently seen on her heels. Carrie is once again walking the streets of New York on a high with these YSL “Farrah” metallic platform sandals ($895), and we’re obsessed! The ultimate queen bee of shoe-lovers is definitely back!
You can’t expect a Carrie Bradshaw comeback without SJP– the shoe label. In 2014, the actress behind the iconic SATC lead character founded her own shoe line called SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. And as seen on the set of Just Like That, seems like Carrie approves of it and is feeling her SJP “Tartt Pierce”Mary Jane shoes ($395). She is also actually wearing a removable crossbody bag from the SJP Carried Away Convertible ($245 — sold out) as accessories over her gray sweatshirt and Adidas pants:
Of course, the “Park Avenue Pollyanna” is making a shoe statement too! Charlotte York, played by Kristin Davis, is seen on the set wearing this lovely pair of floral patent leather pumps ($750) from Prada. How pretty and dainty does she look in this black ensemble matched with her famously perfect hair?
Davis is also seen on the set wearing a chic ensemble in character, while walking an adorable bulldog — in a Stella McCartney puffed sleeve blouse ($333), a Balenciaga blue polka-dot midi skirt ($708) and yellow pointed-toe pumps by Manolo Blahnik. She accessorized with a patterned structured bag and a Burberry vintage check bag charm ($408):
Miranda is back and blonde! Our favorite cynical and workaholic lawyer Miranda Hobbes looks absolutely gorgeous in this red halter jumpsuit by LIKELY, paired with YSL studded leather platform sandals. Played by Cynthia Nixon, Miranda is looking fierce in this look:
Miranda is unusually looking like hippy-ish in Dries Van Noten “Dorias” drawstring tie-dyed striped faille midi dress ($1,375, on sale for $962.50), and CLERGERIE print wedges:
Nixon is also seen wearing an Altuzarra “Oleana” checked blouse, with Vince belted tapered pants with Manolo Blahnik leather pumps:
Beside Nixon is Parker seen in a vintage look—a Norma Kamali Victorian-inspired black & white check royal skirt. She paired it with the Ralph Lauren “Garment-Dyed” Oxford men’s shirt ($110, on sale for $79.99), then topped off the look with Celine “Melody” tri-buckle Mary Jane pumps from the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection.
We are so excited about show’s upcoming experimental outfits by the trio! Can’t wait!
And Just Like That is poised to air in late 2021 on HBO Max.
