MANILA, Philippines — The Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Couture Collection is an exuberant parade of Parisian sophistication, subtle sensuality and dazzle, and the ingenuity of the French haute couture house’s American creative director, Daniel Roseberry.
Held at the Musée Des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, a museum dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of the decorative arts, the Schiaparelli Couture collection this season showcases pieces that are intricate, yet wearable.
Roseberry revealed with Vogue that the collection was inspired “by the way Elsa (Schiaparelli) dressed herself,” as “this sort of sensual body conscious and body obsessed evening wear, everything built around the bustier and the corset.”
The designer also mentioned that the collection is very much like an ’80s nostalgia, as he was inspired by Christian Lacroix’s 1987 debut collection of outlandish gigot sleeves and style exaggeration.
Maison Schiaparelli is a haute couture house created by avant-garde Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli in 1927, with now modern luxury ready-to-wear series after being bought in 2007 by Diego Della Valle.
