Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival: Steph Tan’s Spill The Tea Collection
During the recently held Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival (PMFF), Filipina fashion designer Steph Tan once again stole the spotlight with her feminine yet distinct aesthetic which she has been known for. The collection could pass up for dailywear slash occassion wear—from co-ords with cutesy puffed sleeves and cottoncandy-like hues, to maxi dresses with elaborate ruffles in pastel colors.
“The collection was inspired by the lifestyle and elegance of the aristocratic ladies of the house, who took tea in their finest attires,” Steph Tan told Style Visionary Collective in an interview.
The “Spill the Tea” collection is gently invigorated with embellishments and lush brocades, and slightly sweetened by romantic ruffles and puffed sleeves. The idea is to invite you “to delve into the world of fashion fantasy with a fun and modern approach to dressing for the afternoon tea”.
“We made use both of light and heavy fabrics in this collection. Lush brocades were used for the puff sleeved cocktail dress and tailored co-ords,” Steph further shared. “Some of the ruffled looks were made of silk chiffon, soft tulle, and organdy. The soft tulle pieces were embellished to add texture and sparkle.”
Highlighting femininity with oomph and modern beauty, Steph Tan indeed creates custom and ready-to-wear pieces that feature classic silhouettes. Her designs give each client a fresh and flattering look while reflecting her modern approach to fashion.
