Michael Kors Introduces Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear Collection

American fashion designer Michael Kors recently introduced his Spring 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection virtually. Fifty-six ensembles in neutral, easy-on-the-eye hues were showcased.

The selection mostly displayed monochrome looks in an array of seemingly put-together yet also very laidback looks. From knits, paleo pieces, suits, maxi dresses to asymmetrical skirts, the collection is all about proving that simplicity is sophistication. “You put it on and it makes you feel great about yourself,” Kors said about his collection. Stunning earth colors were also in view. Each look was noticeably styled with flat sandals, which may be reflective of today’s work from home lifestyle and trendy loungewear.
The collection also boasted of gorgeous black ensembles and minimalistic printed outfits—from risque silhouettes to flowy designs.

The designer expressed that he didn’t want anything to look “machine-made”. He further suggested that we shouldn’t save special occasion clothes for special occasions anymore— a style concept rooted from the uncertainty brought by the global pandemic.

The clothes were put in motion through a film made by Haley Elizabeth Anderson. It was shot in a New York Restoration Project community garden, which is eight blocks from where Michael’s grandfather grew up in the Bronx. The models strutted down the garden as American Idol winner Samantha Diaz sang a cover of “You’ve Got A Friend” by Carole King.
