For fifteen years, Happy Andrada has been known for her quirky and design offerings, dreamlike bridalwear and mastery in fabrics.
To celebrate her 15th year in the fashion industry, Happy launched her newest collection of bridal gowns called “Written in the Stars”. Whimsical and magical, each handcrafted gown portrays elegance, sophistication and romance made with special textiles such as silk charmeuse, French lace, and satin. The designer took inspiration from the celestial sky, “because the stars symbolize hope, and faith; fitting for a time like this”.
The collection includes sheer draped robes for wedding preening sessions perfect for same-day edit videos; and of course, dreamy bridal gowns with elaborate details, as well as minimalist dresses perfect for intimate weddings.
As inspired by celestial bodies, this collection also marks the first time the designer also crafted the backdrop set herself for the photo shoot of her collection– showcasing stars, moon, clouds and whatnot.
“First time doing set design. I painted the clouds, moon and sun for the photoshoot. It took me more than a month to finish, but it’s all worth it,” Happy shared in a Facebook post.
The 25-piece collection of bridal dresses and robes are enchanting and dreamy, as showcased by Brazilian model Daiane Vittoni in the campaign. Each dress features unique textures and details– some with pretty and big bows, others with stars as embellishments, while others with feathers and fringes.
“At a time like this, it’s important to have something hopeful to look up to”, she explained. For the designer, her “Written in the Stars” collection also epitomizes how fate and destiny have led her to becoming a fashion creative.
It takes more than just wishing upon a star to become a world-class designer like Happy, as it requires hard work, stellar talent and relentless determination. Fifteen years and Happy Andrada is still shining as one of the bright stars in the Philippine fashion universe.
