Yesterday, UNIQLO organized a virtual press preview to launch its Fall/Winter 2020 collection dubbed as Sustainable Cities. Previously introducing its online store, UNIQLO sets your virtual shopping experience to greater heights yet again with its latest #LifeWear offerings!
The fashion presentation released a number of segments showcasing UNIQLO‘s various new minimalist and functional designs this season– from nature-inspired “Outdoors” pieces, stylish and comfy “Work and Design” clothes, to chic “Art and Design” outfits. The series also gave a peek into some creations with French sensibilities designed by global fashion icon Ines de la Fressange, as well as the brand’s latest AIRism items and Sport Utility Wear. The new collection also boasts of its eco-friendliness, highlighting materials and production processes with less environmental impact.
What caught my eyes the most was the Hana Tajima for UNIQLO Fall/Winter 2020 collection.
Embodying a rich sense of cultural diversity, this exclusive collaboration line features elegantly simplistic yet considered pieces. The items are thoughtfully made to be comfortable and versatile for all women of all backgrounds.
Designs to Better Express Your True Self
HANA TAJIMA FOR UNIQLO was created by UK-born and currently New York-based fashion designer Hana Tajima— a believer in UNIQLO and its LifeWear concept.
Hana Tajima is a British-Japanese Muslim revert fashion designer who has been launching selections with UNIQLO for quite some time now. Her collabs with the brand have always included pieces for women of all races and beliefs– offering tunics, tops, dresses, pants and hijabs. Her Japanese roots, British upbringing and Islam belief have greatly influenced her broad aesthetic, allowing her to cater to different kinds of women from various parts of the world.
For her Fall/Winter 2020 with UNIQLO, the designer expresses the world’s rich cultural diversity featuring universal designs with a focus on detail and comfort—highlighting elegant forms and an easy fit. These are clothes that adapt flexibly to women’s bodies as they subtly change with progression to each life stage, warmly supporting the everyday lives of all women.

Changing Identities – Accentuate Your True Self with the Power of Clothing
Women today are advancing in society as all kinds of boundaries come down. The clothes women choose to wear each day can highlight each person’s unique nature and allow them to feel refreshed while providing all-day comfort. Besides easy mobility and convenience, if those clothes support a relaxed feeling and confidence, so much the better.
This Fall/Winter 2020 Hana Tajima x UNIQLO collection expresses the beauty of independent women through silhouettes and details, with an offer to help women also change inside. Textiles with leaf and grass patterns, and neutral tones of cold and warm colors schemes emphasize subtle beauty. Along with many shirt items, the lineup also incorporates details that allow outfits to reflect the mood of the day, such as tops that can be styled with just one side of the hem tucked in. Pants have also been updated with adjustable waists for a perfect fit. The collection features details that can be altered to fit the daily changes in women’s bodies and feelings.
