BGC, Philippines — Sustainability continues to be one of the most important social goals today for humans to co-exist on Earth by minimizing the depletion of its natural resources. It is a good thing that lifestyle brands and corporations have pushed their eco-friendly efforts more and more these days, and one of the latest brands to do so in the Philipines is global shoe brand Zaxy.

Zaxy, the Brazilian shoe brand noted for its cute platforms, slides, sandals and shoes, recently formed its “Zaxy Squad” to lead its sustainability efforts. The group is composed of Filipina actresses Arci Muñoz, Michelle Vito, and twins Joj and Jai Agpangan.

The Zaxy Squad recently  headed the brand’s Earth-friendly campaign in the island of Bohol, wherein they led the brand’s seashore clean-up and tree-planting activities. Zaxy pushed the cause in partnership with beach hotel Bellevue Resort.

“Today, we planted a few seedlings along with my co-Zaxy girls and the rest of the Bellevue group, and I’m glad because mangroves can help populated places like Bohol,” Arci shared in the campaign’s video. “We (should) spread awareness and education, because it’s important to let the people know that we should sustain our natural resources and take care of our environment for the future generation.”

The group was able to plant 300 mangrove seedlings, removed 55.7 kgs of non-biodegradable trash from Momo Beach, and seeded 30 clams in the Bellevue Reef Sanctuary.

Of course, the Zaxy Squad members were able to advocate for taking care of the nature in their comfy, stylish and eco-friendly Zaxy sandals and slides.

“Zaxy is more than just great shoes,” Sheh Falcon, Zaxy Philippines marketing manager. “We’re passionate about creating real connections, bringing fun to the streets, and empowering women everywhere – that means using sustainable materials, being 100% cruelty-free and vegan.”
