FRIENDS Reunion: The One Where We Can Dress Up Like Rachel Green
HBO Max has finally announced the official streaming date of the much-awaited Friends: The Reunion! I don’t know about you, but the instrumental scoring alone of the video teaser made me tear up a little! But that’s only because I am a huge, huge fan of Friends. It was in 2008 ish when I first downloaded and watched the series in marathon and to this day, it is my go-to show on Netflix when I simply wanna laugh and relax my mind.
Friendship, true love, genius cast, brilliant comedy– these are all the reasons why Friends is still one of the most loved TV shows even after the series wrapped up 17 years ago. And of course, the fashion aspect of the show has also passed the test of time. I love, looove the wardrobe of the cast that truthfully shaped the fashion culture of that era, which we still emulate to this day. And of course, who could better embody the style factor of the show other than Central Perk’s resident fashionista: Rachel Green.
A former spoiled brat who found her way and thrived in the city, Rachel Green left her comfortable life behind to build her independent life in the city of New York. Jennifer Aniston truly put life to the character of a funny yet impassionate waitress turned successful Ralph Lauren executive. She’s made us fall in love with Rachel over and over as she’s become our ultimate peg when it comes to working on our goals, be it fashion- or career-wise.
Rachel served a lot of unforgettable looks all throughout that it’s almost impossible to rank her top OOTDs. The girl got an eclectic sense of style that she can make any outfits into timelessly trend-setting looks. Rachel Green helped define the ’90s fashion– hell, SHE IS the ’90s fashion! That’s why I’ve gathered some her most iconic looks, and where to shop some stylish pieces that can help you cop her outfits:
In Season 1, Rachel made school girl outfits a thing. And this plaid skirt, knee-high socks and turtleneck ensemble is prolly the most iconic one she donned:
You can put together this OOTD with these pieces from Shein:
Who could ever forget the dress that was worth the wait? In Season 3’s “The One Where No One’s Ready”, Ross might be losing his mind already but all was great again when Rachel came out of her room in this stunning mint green dress with slit.
You can cop this look and maybe go commando too with this strap dress from Shein:
Joey Tribbianni may not be able to take home the Soapie Award, but this simple yet elegant red gown worn by girl pal Rachel was winning:
Channel her look with this red dress from Shein:
Seriously, if I could raid Rachel’s closet, I’d go for her distinctly embellished dresses! And this yellow mid-thigh dress with floral embroidery and slit is my personal favorite:
Too bad, British label IDOL, the original line that produced this now-iconic dress, has been out of business for years. I’m pretty sure had it been still around this day, a lot of girls would’ve loved to get their hands on this exact same style from the exact clothing line. You can search high and low but you can never find something as good, except well, 2NE1 Dara Park’s couture in this live performance of I LOVE YOU. But for a more wearable version, this yellow tube dress will do:
A black sheer dress is always a good idea, tbh. And this one right here is too cute with its floral appliques. One of the reasons I love this number is because this cute outfit from season 4, has a sleeveless version that Phoebe Buffay wore in season 6:
Modernize the black sheer dress with this piece from Shein, an updated look that speaks of this generation’s Kardashian-approved trends:
Rachel’s office outfits were always so remarkable! This green ensemble right here is corporate chic yet still playful:
Achieve this look with this military green turtleneck top and checkered pencil skirt, which can be both availed on Zalora:
Rachel looked so good in co-ord powersuits, too:

Okay, let’s just say it. Rachel’s into plaid pieces. She made these pants interesting as she paired it with this cute tee and layered it wit a sweater around her waist:
Recreate the look with these pieces:
If you are looking for a uniquely modern plaid pants, this pair from Copper will work too:
She was into checkered dresses too:
This checkered dress from Shein is so identical to Rachel’s:
If you ask me, peak ’90s fashion was all about denim romper overalls and jumpers. The casual yet unique layering of this outfit is sooo Rachel:
You can pull this off by layering your striped tee with a denim romper, and then top it off with a blazer:
I am sure I missed out on a lot of your favorites. Share with us your faves too in the comments! I might just update this list!
