Digital Fashion Week Founder Charina Widjaja Introduces DFW Conversations
Since its conception in Singapore back in 2012, Digital Fashion Week (DFW) has emerged as the trendsetter with a strong belief in the digitalization of fashion businesses and connecting independent designers, high-profiled fashion personalities and international fashion media on one single platform. First in Asia, the fashion show production has featured global fashion figures in the platform— from various fashion designers from different parts of the world, style influencers and even supermodels like Naomi Campbell.
Charina Widjaja, the Singapore-based founder and force behind Digital Fashion Week and CEO of DFW Creative, remains steadfastly committed to the core mission by maximizing the power of technology in uplifting fashion houses and brands despite the uncertainty of current times. Widjaja is set out to launch yet again another first integrated platform in Asia: Digital Fashion Week Conversations.
“We strive to empower designers in coping and making a comeback in the industry,” Charina Widjaja said. “With this new integrated platform, we will be enabling independent designers to connect and work hand-in-hand with the high-profiled fashion personalities to create the re-imagined digital experience; affordable to the end consumer, globally.”
‘Digital Fashion Week Conversations’ (DFWC) is the first step in this new enhancement. DFWC is a series of virtual conversations of digital event hosted on DFW’s new platform and Facebook Live; presenting roundtables with fashion designers, key opinion leaders, international fashion media and fashion-industry executives. The session will cover a wide range of topics related to the fashion industry such as ‘coping with the new digital norm’ and ‘digital sales, would it create more opportunities or negative impact?’
“Every fashion week should be digital in this way”, Naomi Campbel said during one of the press conferences of Digital Fashion Week. From its conception, DFW has supported over 300 designers internationally and are committed to once again reignite the fashion community as a whole.
Some of the fashion designers who will be joining the Conversations series are Chinese Couture Queen Guo Pei, Australian designer Betty Tran, Singaporean designers Max Tan, Lisa Von Tang, Jessica Cindy and Carrie K and South African designer Chu Suwanappha and Indonesian designer Jeffry Tan– to name a few.
Harper Bazaar’s editor-in-chief Kenneth Goh will join Guo Pei on the first session of Digital Fashion Week Conversations on July 28 at 1:00 PM, Singapore time. Widjaja will be on the session as well, as moderated by journalist Sara-Ann Shuen.
Kenneth Goh shared with Style Visionary Network exclusively his thoughts on the upcoming panel talk.
“I’m excited to be part of Digital Fashion Week to open conversations about how the pandemic has changed the way the media and fashion industries work. Our collaborations, our synergies and our efforts to push for a sustainable way of living, to find new ventures and build a better future together. I’m excited to start DFW with a chat together with celebrated designer Guo Pei, ” the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore said.
Locally, Digital Fashion Week has partnered with digital fashion channel Style Visionary Network and Stylista TV for some special segments that will be moderated by our very own host: actress, model and Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez.

The partnership is meant to give Filipino style visionaries and fashion brands an opportunity to have a global platform to highlight their collections and share their insights as to how they’re coping with the struggles brought by the pandemic. The collaborative segments will be livestreamed on all of the Digital Fashion Week online platforms as well as on Style Visionary Network’s.
