Being a self-proclaimed K-beauty junkie, I’ve tried numerous Korean skincare brands and products that I swear have changed my life. Topping my list is the cult favorite brand By Wishtrend.

Being born with oily skin that’s inevitably prone to acne and hyperpigmentation is not an easy feat. What’s worse than acne itself is the possible marks that can be left behind by pimples. After being introduced to the wonders of By Wishtrend, I can say that my skin has been truly transformed from zero to hero.

The first thing I was able to try from By Wishtrend is the well-known Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum (₱1,560.00). After a week of consistently feeding it to my skin, I was showered with compliments about having glass skin. Yay! Not gonna lie, I was thrilled!

From then on, this brand has gained my trust. So when I first heard about its new essence coming out at the time, I wanted to get my hands on it fast. I was excited about the idea of incorporating an essence into my skincare routine. What really had me adding this new essence to cart was the fact that it was designed for acne-prone fellas, too. True enough, this essence went so well with my initial serum from the brand– a match made in heaven, if I must say so!

Packed with 46% active ingredients, the Quad Active Boosting Essence By Wishtrend (₱1,560.00) is known as a “serum booster.” It literally aims to boost further the effects of your current serum. According to the brand’s site, it can also be used as a toner or a serum depending on your needs.

The essence has four noteworthy key ingredients which are: 1% organic propolis extract that’s great for soothing inflamed skin and 26.4% complex ingredients, specifically Morus Alba bark extract known for calming down stressed skin. It also boasts of Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract which helps prevent breakouts and Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extracts that hinders inflammation before it can even appear to your skin. Plus 10% Salix Alba Bark Extract that helps with exfoliation; and lastly, 9% Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water that is beneficial for irritated skin. Fermented Black Tea is also present.

Okay, enough with the science—let’s delve into the real deal: the results it had on my skin.

I wanted to see if this new product would really do wonders of making my pimples less visible. This was me before using the new essence:

I first used this for what it was originally intended. I paired it with my trustworthy serum. I also used the Quad Active Boosting Essence By Wishtrend as my moisturizer, so that means I had one step deducted from my usual beauty routine as I say farewell to my previous moisturizer.

After two days of using Quad Active Boosting Essence By Wishtrend (as seen in the photo above), my skin responded so well and so obviously loved my new skincare step. The two zits I had on my face flattened down, and they became less visible. With another couple of days of continuous usage, I bid farewell to my pimples.  Then the following days, I experimented on using the new essence all on its own as my sole serum and moisturizer, and I have been impressed by how the essence alone has maintained my skin acne-free. And what I love more is that my acne did not leave unwanted marks and blemishes this time, which just tells you that this essence also has taken care of that other skin issue I usually have.

I am in love with the fact that I no longer have to layer skincare products because this alone does the job for me. Aside from being time-saving, it fits my budget as a college student. Although it still may be counted as more on the expensive side, I think of it as a skinvestment and literally worth every buck!

Overall, I have been using this for more than a month now. My oil production has lessened and I get the right amount of shine to make me look fresh. A highly-recommendable all-in-one product for acne-prone skin, I must say. Once again, By Wishtrend has proven itself to loyal clientele like me, validating its position as one of the most sought-after K-beauty brands today.
