Adidas Beyoncé Superstar Platform Sneakers To Drop This Week
After the successful release of her first Ivy Park x Adidas collection last January, Beyoncé will drop a new sneaker project with the brand next week. The collaboration is for the celebration of Adidas Superstar’s 50th birthday.
The classic Adidas Superstar first debuted on the hardwood in the ’70s and no one saw how this design would have a cultural impact on the world of fashion. The classic three-striped shoes were released in various designs and colors throughout the years. This year, being the 50th year of the classic sneakers, Beyoncé— an award-winning singer who has redefined pop culture– truly deserves to be one of the few notable celebrities that was chosen by Adidas to give the iconic shoes their own design and perspective.
Queen Bey re-imagined the iconic silhouette by adding an uneven structured sole platform, but manages to keep the colors and a few recognizable features such as the black stripes and a rubber shell toe. However, the classic rounded tip was recreated as pointed at the front. Then Beyoncé finished the design with her name printed on the insole.
The Grammy award-winning singer signed a contract with Adidas last year, joining the ranks of Pharell Williams and Kanye West to become one of the celebrities to partner with the sportswear maker known for its signature three stripes logo. Last January, Beyoncé’s Ivy Park x Adidas collection of body suits, jackets and sportswear was a huge hit, sold out almost immediately after its surprise release.
If you’re interested in copping a pair, Beyoncé’s Superstar Platform sneaker pair is priced at 200$ and will be exclusively launched on the Adidas app on September 18 at 12:30 PM EST. You may also visit adidas.com and instagram.com/adidasoriginals for more info.
